Yesterday was a good day… but I’ll be honest—it caught up with me.
I spent a couple hours out in the yard again. Raking, trimming, pulling weeds… the kind of work that doesn’t always show up on the Apple watch, but you know counts.
By the time I came in, my wife had made me a simple sandwich while the heating & air guy was servicing the heat pump. Sounds like a perfect afternoon, right?
Except… about halfway through the afternoon, I hit a wall. I was just completely wiped out.
Maybe it was the sun
Maybe I overdid it
Maybe I’m just not 30 anymore 😄
But even then, after we ran to the store to grab groceries for today’s Easter lunch with the kids, I looked down at my phone and realized—I still wasn’t close to my step goal or closing my rings.
So I did what I’ve been trying to do this entire reset…. I laced up my shoes and went for a walk anyway.
Finished the day with over 8,000 steps. Not perfect—but I showed up.
And that’s really what this whole thing is about.
Not perfection
Not crushing it every single day
Just showing up… even when you really don’t feel like it.
But today is Easter
And if you’re doing this reset with me, I want to be very clear about something:
Family comes first.
If today includes foods you wouldn’t normally eat…
If your schedule is off…
If you skip your walk…
That’s okay !
This is where Atomic Habits really comes in.
James Clear talks about the difference between missing once and missing twice.
Missing once? That’s life.
Missing twice? That’s the start of a new habit… in the wrong direction.
So enjoy today!
Sit with your family
Laugh
Eat
Be present
And tomorrow? We get right back on the bus.
No guilt. No punishment. No “I blew it.”
Just the next small habit. Because in the long run, it’s not what you do on one holiday that matters…
It’s what you come back to afterward.
And if you’re ready, my Mexican Rice Bowl Workshop is there to make that next step simple.
Happy Easter, my friends.
Enjoy your day. ❤️
Mexican Rice Bowl Workshop
Over the past few weeks, I’ve been showing you how to build simple, delicious rice bowls step by step.

Happy Easter! I made a chocolate hazelnut pie. It is plant based and used Whole Foods. Everyone loved it. It was a nice treat. I was satisfied with only a small piece. My other two meals were very responsible.
Once I’m done with the holiday, I’m done. I try to enjoy things without dragging them on.
I do Taichi to help with my soreness. It’s very gentle but powerful. It might not be for everyone but I like it. It helps me feel more in touch with myself and my body can do more without feeling drained.
I also do Pilates for the same reason but you especially don’t want to do this without proper instruction. And I do it a few times per week.
And I walk. I garden. I live.
Thank you and Happy Easter to you and your family also. Thanks for keeping everything calm!
